The day center “House of Smiles” for adults with cognitive disabilities was opened in Micula seven years ago. The directors Irina and Judit write:
“Our goal is to support families and offer the twelve people with disabilities a joyful environment. Their favorite activities include sewing, weaving, puzzling, board games, crafting postcards, and physical movement. They also enjoy outdoor activities, help in the garden, take walks in the village, or ride their tricycles. The items they create are sold or given as gifts to visitors. Over the years, they have formed friendships, look out for each other, care for one another, and offer mutual support. You could say that a true family atmosphere prevails here every day. The House of Smiles truly lives up to its name. Everyone who comes here is warmly welcomed. This year, we welcomed a new member to our team who settled in very quickly and joins each morning with enthusiasm and joy.”
The House of Smiles is funded through donations, contributions from people with disabilities, private taxes, a grant from the local municipality, and our Austrian partners. We appreciate every bit of support, because every little help turns into a smile.
After almost three years of interrupted construction and overcoming many challenges, the contract to complete the residential home “Tünderhon” for ten people was finally signed on May 1. The house is expected to be finished by autumn, with the opening planned for the end of this year. Unfortunately, due to construction delays and high inflation in recent years, costs have significantly increased. Including previous expenses, this future home for people in urgent need will cost around €490,000. We are still short about €90,000. Please support us with your donation!
To finance the completion of the Tünderhon residential home, we are requesting private loans.
How does it work? Private individuals lend money to the Noah association for five years. Lenders choose the amount themselves, with a minimum of €2,000. We sign a formal agreement with each lender. After five years, they receive their money back with interest—guaranteed.
